The Siwu
New Testament was dedicated on the 13th of April 2009 in Lolobi-Kumasi. The translators were rev. Stephen Addai and Mr. John Atsu. The office is located at Akpafu Mempeasem. The Siwu NT is presently out of stock because all initial printed copies were sold within a few months after the dedication. Since the inception of the literacy program in the project areas, more women have shown interest in learning to read and write their mother tongue than their male counterparts. This has become very evident such that more women are leading the reading of the scriptures in most of the congregations because most of them turned out to be the most fluent readers. Most of the women as a result of their literacy skills have become Bible study leaders as well as liturgists and announcers in their congregations. Moreover a number of these women who were actively involved in the literacy and tranlation activites of the projects have risen to become presbyters, deaconesses and "church mothers" in their congregations.
