| Selee New Testament April 2009 |
|
The Selee New Testament (http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=snw ) was dedicated on the 11th of April 2009 in Santrokofi. Rev. Francis Odiatey and Mr. Albert Ofori were the translators of the Selee NT. Selee was one of the four languages in the Volta Region Multi Project. The VRM-P was supported by Translation SEED Company of the USA. Copies of the Selee NT are for sale at the VRM-P office at Santrokofi. A Church leader intimated that previously they had a lot of difficulty during Bible studies because often scriptures were misinterpreted into their language when read in other languages and they also were not conversant with some vocabularies in their languages such as salvation, Holy Spirit, kingdom of God among others which made it difficult for their use of the right words in the languages when preaching or doing Bible Study and they therefore feel elated anytime they hear the scriptures read and these terms used so naturally and clearly in their language making the Word of God easier to understand. They also expressed their joy of having an accessible and affordable New Testament which they can carry to church and other places to use.
