As at October 1, 2017 the Executive Director, Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah had begun his annual leave, after which he will be assuming a new position as the Overseer of a National Cathedral that the President of Ghana wants built for the country. With this, Dr Opoku- Mensah completes eight years of service to GILLBT as the Executive Director.

In the light of this, the following leadership changes have been made.

Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah

First, the current Board Chairman, Rev Thomas Sayibu Imoro, has graciously agreed to step in as the Acting Director for a 1-year period beginning October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018. He steped down as the Chairman of the Board effective October 1, 2017.

The GILLBT Board has unanimously elected Prof E.V.O. Dankwa as the new Chairman of the GILLBT Board.

We are grateful for the willingness of Rev Thomas Sayibu Imoro to step in as the Acting Director, as this ensures continuity in our work and partnerships, and indeed will ensure both continuity, and closure, to a number of the important initiatives we are currently working on. This is because Rev Thomas Sayibu Imoro and Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah have worked very closely over the past years on all the major organizational issues.

Similarly, we are grateful to Prof E.V.O. Dankwa for his willingness to continue his long-term service to GILLBT in the new role as the Board Chairman.

Finally, we are very grateful for the faithful service of Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah to GILLBT, and pray for God’s wisdom and guidance for him in his new role as Overseer of our National Cathedral.

We also look forward to continue working with him as part of the national strategy of integrating issues of language development and Bible Translation within the ambit of the National Cathedral.

GILLBT Management.
